Made exclusively for the The Kaleidoscope Project x Bergdorf Goodman pop-up shop.  The Culebra Collection was inspired by the intricate patterns of snakeskin and can be interpreted by only 2 artisans in Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico.  Creating a 12” x 12” square of Culebra texture takes 2 weeks of hand-hammering and includes many different chisels.  This collection was intentionally created with the underside of the texture left visible so that the craftsmanship could be appreciated, like the perfect seams of couture garment.  The realistic texture is often mistaken for leather despite being hammered into 14-guage copper, with a matte black finish.
