Thompson Accessories Now Available at Bergdorf Goodman

More than a dozen Thompson luxury home and bar accessories are now available at the iconic Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City as part of the The Kaleidoscope Project’s three-month pop-up exhibit titled “A Celebration of Creativity and Culture.” The respected non-profit organization takes a broad-reaching approach to highlighting and promoting design talent of all cultures and from all corners of the globe, and its latest partnership with Bergdorf Godman connects a true retail icon with culturally diverse designers, artisans and makers.

Thompson was invited to join this year’s talented cohort of creators on the 7th floor Decorative Home Department that has housed other successful pop-ups with design legends such as Kit Kemp and Kelly Wearstler. To prepare, Founder and Creative Director Alejandra Ochoa de Thompson designed two entirely new accessory collections along with a stunning placemat/charger. The Culebra Collection, Tortuga Collection, and Scalloped Placemat showcase the hand-crafted metal mastery Thompson is known for in the kitchen and bath industry in unique new ways for today’s luxury home.

Also on display is Everyday Heirlooms, Thompson’s luxury barware collaboration with Pappy & Company. The popular collection is not only making its East Coast debut at Bergdorf Goodman—it is the first time the collection is available for retail sale outside of Pappy & Company’s Louisville store and website.

The Culebra Collection, Tortuga Collection, Scalloped Placemat, and Everyday Heirlooms Collection are on display and available for purchase now through the end of July 2024.

NEW Culebra Collection
Inspired by the intricate patterns of snakeskin, the Culebra Collection of luxury home accessories can only be created by two Thompson artisans in Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. Hand-hammering a 12” x 12” square of Culebra texture takes two weeks of detailed metalsmithing and includes 15 different chisels. The realistic texture is often mistaken for leather despite being hammered into 14-guage copper and finished in matte black. This collection includes a cooler, ice bucket, tray, and bowl.

NEW Tortuga Collection
The Tortuga Collection is inspired by the weathered shell of a tortoise and interpreted by our skilled artisans in Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. Each organic shape in this stunning pattern is hand-hammered to sit artistically next to its neighbors making every Tortuga piece truly unique. The undulating surface finished in Satin Brass is not only an eye-catching focal point but a true tactile experience. The Tortuga Collection includes a cooler, ice bucket, cup, tray, and bowl.

NEW Scalloped Placemat
Inspired by fine jewelry and the unique allure of mixed metals, this one-of-a-kind placemat combines silver and gold tones to complement nearly all tablescapes. Our Scalloped Placemat is handcrafted from 20-gauge brass and features a burnished nickel finish hand applied to the trim. With a diameter of 16” it’s the perfect size for intimate dinner parties or large plated events, and a protective coating ensuring a lifetime of use.

Everyday Heirlooms Collection with Pappy & Company

The Everyday Heirlooms collection can be summed up in a few words: Legacy. Heritage. Celebration. Family. Artistry. Craftsmanship. These are the shared values that not only brought the Thompson and Van Winkle families together but are reflected in every aspect of their relationship and each piece of this stunning collection of luxury barware. While the products are inspired by essential pieces from Van Winkle family celebrations over the past century, the modern interpretations are meant to be enjoyed often and used daily. Products include:

• The Pappy Punchbowl
• The Big Van Shaker
• The Julian Jigger
• The Van Winkle Cup
• The Big Van Ice Bucket
• The Katie Van Sipping Spoon
• The Pappy Tray
• The Pappy Mini Tray
