During the recent Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas, Nevada, Thompson was honored with an Innovation Booth Award for its creative and compelling display of  authentic, artisan-crafted copper sinks, tubs and fixtures for the home, resorts and boutique hotels. Thompson was one of only three exhibitors to receive an award.  The winners were honored for their booth design based on “wow factor, messaging, education, engagement and “the unexpected and unprecedented.”

“We are so happy and humbled by this honor, which I never dreamed of,” said Alejandra Thompson, founder and creative director. “I am truly grateful to everyone who visited our booth during this show and for their interest in what we offer.”

At this year’s show, Thompson showcased new products from each of its handmade copper lines, including traditional sinks for the kitchen and bath, elegant and inspired specialty designs and a hand-hammered soaking tub. Attendees were especially impressed with two new sink introductions featuring eye-catching, high-gloss finishes in black and gold that underscore the innovation Thompson brings to centuries-old copper-crafting traditions. Each piece is hand-produced by artisans employed at the company location in Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico – the world’s oldest copper-crafting region. Alejandra Thompson, who was born and raised in the region, works closely with the artisans to create Thompson signature solid copper sinks and tubs.

For those looking to achieve a rich weathered finish and distinctive look, the copper is left in its natural state to patina. A lifetime finish also can be applied to certain copper designs to retain the original appearance.
