Drama is on tap with a selection of new hand hammering techniques being introduced in 2017. Pulling inspiration from both fashion and nature, these textures recall argyle and houndstooth patterns, or leaves falling gently from a tree. They draw the eye and call the hand to follow the edges, shapes and lines. Thompson will debut these new textures on a variety of sinks for the kitchen and bath.

The ‘wheat’ technique of hand-hammering, as seen on the new Gari Farmhouse Sink, is also being introduced at KBIS. On close inspection, thousands of delicate hammer strokes are evident. The technique’s name is a nod to the finished look, which is reminiscent of the mark a blade of wheat might leave behind. Coupled with an antique copper finish, the sink shines.
