A Streamlined Process for Designers and Homeowners
“We’re thrilled to partner with Keeler Brass Company to offer a solution that removes much of the hassle from the design process,” said Thompson Vice President of Sales & Marketing Alejandra Thompson de Jordan. “This new collaboration ensures that both professionals and DIY homeowners no longer need to spend hours trying to match finishes and style. Together we’re helping designers and homeowners create cohesive, beautiful spaces with ease,” she added.

“It is said that a successful alliance depends on the ability of both parties to operate as if they were employed by the same company,” begins Keeler Brass Company Creative Director, Knikki Kennedy Grantham. “To align based on a clear understanding of each organization’s structure, core values, goals, and culture is the goal, and from the moment we first met with Thompson, we knew that they shared our same values. From the way they design products, support artisans and advocate for the design community, to the true family atmosphere that they embody across their whole company. We are truly honored to align our Keeler Brass Company Anthology Series alongside their exquisite line of sinks, tubs, and custom range hoods. The fluidity between our correlating finish palettes was this designer’s dream!”

HDD Magazine Featured Images

Thompson’s Quintana Range Hood (above left) and a Custom Thompson Vanity (above right) are featured in the in July/August issue of Home Design & Decor Magazine. Part of a stunning design/build project by Artistic Interior Design, each product showcases the artisan-crafted mastery of Thompson in unique ways.

The Quintana Range Hood is part of our Quintana Collection by Kara Cox Interiors. It features a soft, organic oval shape and is finished in a combination of Satin Brass and Burnished Nickel. The beautiful curves and luxuriously smooth finishes make it a stunning focal point in the home’s kitchen.

The focal point of the powder room meanwhile is a custom hammered brass vanity designed by Amy Lee in collaboration with our team. A special coating on the metal keeps it from aging and spotting, and the smooth leg system provides a beautiful contrast to the hammered vanity top and bowl.

Together, these two hand-crafted products allowed Lee to provide the homeowners with a “mixed metal” look in each space that impart an organic, natural feeling.

More than a dozen Thompson luxury home and bar accessories are now available at the iconic Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City as part of the The Kaleidoscope Project’s three-month pop-up exhibit titled “A Celebration of Creativity and Culture.” The respected non-profit organization takes a broad-reaching approach to highlighting and promoting design talent of all cultures and from all corners of the globe, and its latest partnership with Bergdorf Godman connects a true retail icon with culturally diverse designers, artisans and makers.

Thompson was invited to join this year’s talented cohort of creators on the 7th floor Decorative Home Department that has housed other successful pop-ups with design legends such as Kit Kemp and Kelly Wearstler. To prepare, Founder and Creative Director Alejandra Ochoa de Thompson designed two entirely new accessory collections along with a stunning placemat/charger. The Culebra Collection, Tortuga Collection, and Scalloped Placemat showcase the hand-crafted metal mastery Thompson is known for in the kitchen and bath industry in unique new ways for today’s luxury home.

Also on display is Everyday Heirlooms, Thompson’s luxury barware collaboration with Pappy & Company. The popular collection is not only making its East Coast debut at Bergdorf Goodman—it is the first time the collection is available for retail sale outside of Pappy & Company’s Louisville store and website.

The Culebra Collection, Tortuga Collection, Scalloped Placemat, and Everyday Heirlooms Collection are on display and available for purchase now through the end of July 2024.

NEW Culebra Collection
Inspired by the intricate patterns of snakeskin, the Culebra Collection of luxury home accessories can only be created by two Thompson artisans in Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. Hand-hammering a 12” x 12” square of Culebra texture takes two weeks of detailed metalsmithing and includes 15 different chisels. The realistic texture is often mistaken for leather despite being hammered into 14-guage copper and finished in matte black. This collection includes a cooler, ice bucket, tray, and bowl.

NEW Tortuga Collection
The Tortuga Collection is inspired by the weathered shell of a tortoise and interpreted by our skilled artisans in Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. Each organic shape in this stunning pattern is hand-hammered to sit artistically next to its neighbors making every Tortuga piece truly unique. The undulating surface finished in Satin Brass is not only an eye-catching focal point but a true tactile experience. The Tortuga Collection includes a cooler, ice bucket, cup, tray, and bowl.

NEW Scalloped Placemat
Inspired by fine jewelry and the unique allure of mixed metals, this one-of-a-kind placemat combines silver and gold tones to complement nearly all tablescapes. Our Scalloped Placemat is handcrafted from 20-gauge brass and features a burnished nickel finish hand applied to the trim. With a diameter of 16” it’s the perfect size for intimate dinner parties or large plated events, and a protective coating ensuring a lifetime of use.

Everyday Heirlooms Collection with Pappy & Company

The Everyday Heirlooms collection can be summed up in a few words: Legacy. Heritage. Celebration. Family. Artistry. Craftsmanship. These are the shared values that not only brought the Thompson and Van Winkle families together but are reflected in every aspect of their relationship and each piece of this stunning collection of luxury barware. While the products are inspired by essential pieces from Van Winkle family celebrations over the past century, the modern interpretations are meant to be enjoyed often and used daily. Products include:

• The Pappy Punchbowl
• The Big Van Shaker
• The Julian Jigger
• The Van Winkle Cup
• The Big Van Ice Bucket
• The Katie Van Sipping Spoon
• The Pappy Tray
• The Pappy Mini Tray

True to its name, it also imparts a feeling of solidity, security, and permanence. Join us in Booth N1677 from February 27th to 29th to experience the pinnacle of artisanal craftsmanship and kitchen and bath design innovation.

Thompson is proud to launch two new sinks for the kitchen and home bar. The Quiroga Smooth Brass Kitchen Sink and Rivera Smooth Brass Bar/Prep Sink were created in response to emerging industry trends and designer requests. Each product is handcrafted by our talented artisans and finished in Thompson’s signature semi-satin brass.

THE STORY
As more designers seek creative ways to bring metals and other natural materials into the home, Thompson is responding with new and elevated designs that meet their needs and the needs of their clients. One of the biggest industry trends over the past two years has been the continued rise of brass, more specifically sinks, range hoods, and accessories for the home that feature a smooth, luxurious brass finish.

“Our team began noticing this increase back in 2021,” said Alejandra Thompson de Jordan, VP of Marketing & Sales. “Demand for custom sinks with smooth brass exterior and interior finishes continued to grow in 2022 and 2023 and we decided to address this shift by offering two of our standard products—Quiroga and Rivera—in smooth brass,” she added.

The resulting designs maintain the beauty and handcrafted mastery of the original models, yet are more accessible for a variety of homes and design aesthetics. And each sink’s living finish will allow it to beautifully patina over time. Alternatively, homeowners can keep these sinks polished to highlight the striking gold tones.

AVAILABILITY
The Rivera Smooth Brass Bar/Prep Sink is in stock and ready to ship. The Quiroga Smooth Brass Kitchen Sink will be stock in beginning in December, 2023.
